  Pyratape P Horse Wormer Paste contains Pyrantel embonate and is used for the treatment of adult infections of large and small redworms, Ascarids and Pinworms found in the gastro-intestinal tract of horses, ponies and foals. A double dose will treat for tapeworm infection. Pyratape P also treats and controls tapeworm infection.

  Each tube is sufficient to treat 600kg of bodyweight.

  POM-VPS products will be dispensed in three specific scenarios:

  1. The patient is currently under the care of Farr and Pursey Equine, has been seen by one of the veterinary surgeons and consequently prescribed the product. This also includes the provision of ongoing medication for long term conditions (which are subject to individual case review before being issued).
  2. A veterinary prescription has been issued and has been reviewed by a dispensing veterinary surgeon within Farr & Pursey Equine.

  Equest Wormer

  Sold as a single tube. Equest contains moxidectin and is one of the few wormers licensed to control the important encysted larval stages of small red worms. It has a long period of anti-worm activity after the dose has been given (13 weeks) and so helps to reduce pasture contamination. Equest is also less toxic to the natural beetles and other insects which help to break up the dung on the pasture, compared with ivermectin-based products.
